I promised I would share my favorite podcasts when I posted my top 12 healthy habits list. I realize that not everyone will have the same interests, but I just wanted to share my personal favorites as a starting point for those who maybe aren't listening to podcasts at all. Maybe something on my list will spark your interest!
I listen to podcasts when I'm walking, exercising, cleaning house, driving, or if I wake up and can't fall back asleep. I've listened to an entire series on a long road trip too. Kind of like Podcast Bingeing. On a side note, I use Yurbuds when I am listening on the go because they stay in my ears better and have earpieces that fit smaller womens ears.
Typically, I listen to more factual podcasts or ones that inspire me or share information. I tend to skip through the ones that get really chatty. Everyone likes something different so I suggest you just start searching for some podcasts on topics that you are interested in and get going.
Beyond Burnout – This podcast is directed towards busy working moms but I many of the topics will work for stay at home moms and/or work at home moms as well. Although, I think she is part of the problem as far as her stance on Adrenal Fatigue, but I'm not going to hold that against the other good podcasts she has.
Everything Stay At Home Mom – The name pretty much covers it. Sometimes this one gets too chatty for me. I prefer a more fact based type of podcasts, but occasionally a subject will pop up that intrigues me enough to listen, but I usually skip through some parts.
They Say Podcast – These friends get together to debunk the latest expert advice on various topics such as parenting, diet, marriage, healthy living, etc. My favorites were the Diet and Body Image episodes (two of them) as I've always had an unhealthy body image.
Smalley Marriage Radio – with a fairly wide variety of topics such as getting your husband to help around the house and helping a child with a bad temper. I haven't listened to all of them, as many don't apply to my current situation, but lots of good topics.
Focus on the Family – if you've ever enjoyed any of Dr. Dobson's books, you might like this faith filled podcast on parenting.
Stuff You Missed in History Class – This is one of my favorites! I love history and this one is even interesting enough for my kids to enjoy.
EOFire with John Lee Dumas – excellent for entrepreneurs. Great for moms that own their own business and/or work from home or in an office.
The Smart Passive Income Podcast – business strategies for online business. Great for bloggers or small business owners, etc.
I listen to several podcasts on Spotify
to find podcasts on Spotify simply log in to your account, then at the menu (should be at the bottom as in screenshot below) click on Browse then scroll down to Podcasts & Videos to see what you like OR if you know the name of the podcast, you can click “search” and type it in. If you follow a podcast that will basically subscribe you to it and it will THEN show up in your library.
The Budget-Minded Traveler – Mainly because I have a serious case of wanderlust but also because the tips are helpful and the stories are inspiring. I have learned a lot of travel shortcuts from this channel.
Domestic CEO's Quick and Dirty Tips – For example episode 217 Items You Should Never Put in the Garbage Disposal is one that could prevent you from having to call the plumber! I have learned SO much stuff from this podcast, and I highly recommend it.
Grammar Girl Quick and Dirty Tips – Affect or Effect? Do YOU know the difference? Find out with these educational and interesting podcasts. Usually under 15 minutes, a great quick listen on your way to work.
What are your favorite podcasts? Take a minute to tell me in the comments below; I'd love to add them to my queue!
