Is "Moderation" Ruining Your Health?

I have had so many people tell me “moderation is key” or “all things in moderation” but being an all or nothing gal, I find “moderation” annoying. Usually, when someone says this to me it’s because they want to eat something they know they shouldn’t be eating, or to drink something they shouldn’t be drinking. Maybe moderation is good when it comes to exercise or thrill seeking… I don’t know. I’m focusing on “moderation” when it comes to what we eat.

How much moderation is okay?

When you eat something, do you ask yourself, “is this food creating health in my body, or is this food destroying my health?” If you know that it is a health destroyer but tell yourself eating it in moderation is ok, you could be giving yourself a license to kill, YOURSELF.

The problem with eating health destroyers is that they usually destroy your health slowly. Unfortunately this makes it easier to use “moderation” as an excuse to eat things that have questionable ingredients.

Now, I ask you, if I made you some chocolate chip cookies, but added in a moderate amount of rabbit poop, would you still eat them? It’s only a moderate amount… and hey, it looks just like chocolate chips when baked.  If you answered “No, I would not eat those cookies” then let me ask you this. Why are you still eating propylene glycol, monosodium glutamate, and high fructose corn syrup “in moderation” because you know what? These foods are WORSE than rabbit poop. Just saying.

“all things in moderation” is an excuse to eat what you want at that moment
