Cinnamon Spice Chai 3

Cinnamon Spice Chai is one of my favorites. Chai is so versatile. I've seen so many different recipes for Chai drinks. One of my favorites is a warming and energizing beverage I can enjoy in the morning while I'm getting my head on straight for the day.

To make this chai blend you will want to combine the following:

1 broken up cinnamon stick
1/2 tsp coriander seed
1/2 tsp powdered ginger
1/4 tsp black peppercorns
1/4 tsp cardamom seeds
1/2 tsp cloves

I put this all in my coffee grinder and grind a little bit. I mix this up pretty well then put in a storage jar. You can then use about 1 teaspoon of this mixture in an 8 ounce cup of water and simmer on low for about 10 minutes. Remove this mixture from the heat and add in some of your favorite green or black tea. In a pinch, I have simply added Garam Masala to my cup of tea!

Now let it steep for about 5 minutes. Meanwhile heat about 2-4 ounces of unsweetened almond milk. After your tea has finished the 5 minutes steeping, strain and sweeten to taste and finally you can froth the almond milk then add it on top. Sprinkle some cinnamon and you're done!

I'm going to be honest, this is one thing that I really do prefer with honey. Yeah, I can do it with stevia, but if I really wanna get my chai on, I go for the 1 teaspoon of honey. Ya' gotta live a little. I use my aerolatte to froth the top of my almond milk.

Drinking hot tea is very calming to me. It has also helped me to cut back on my coffee consumption. I don't have a problem with coffee, but it can be overdone. This is one of my favorite cups, given to me by my friend Claudia! Thanks girl!

What's  your favorite hot beverage?
